1. Web Services

     Another test: This one is said to be created by Einstein. He claimed that only less than 2% of mankind would be able to solve it. Do you belong to this group?

     Interest in Stock Market? The web service behind this link shows as many charts as you like. You may define the companies for which the charts shall be shown as well as various parameters for how the charts shall look like.

   • eMail with Notification
     How often do you wish to know if and when your eMail has been read. With this eMail send service, you'll get notified about this with a separate eMail.

   • Hit Counter
     If you own a web page, you surely want to know how many people have visitied your site so far. Some hosters offer free hit counters for this purpose. If not, or if you are not satisfied with their offers, HERE, you'll find a free (and really cool) HitCounter. Implementation of this hitcounter is very easy.

5. Miscellaneous

   • Electronic Equipment
     This links to an image collection of old electronic equipment, especially measurement equipment, which I intend to sell one time. If you are interested, .

   • Home Network Security
     I like to protect all my computers with Norton Internet Security. Because I do not like to install and maintain that product on all of my home computers that never leave the home I looked for an easy solution. Here it comes: You need a server that runs all the time (which makes sense if you like to share music, photos, virtual CD's etc). On this server, you install the Norton Internet Security product and an Apache (open-source) web server configured as proxy server. That's it! Please me if you want to know how exactly to do it. I'll publish a page here after I wrote it down for the first interested person.

     Who sends his CV in paper form? Me not (ok, I'm having my own cool company :) Do you want to see my CV? You'll need an username and a password. If you are interested, please me (please do not use fake sender information).

   • Neurofeedback
     Now, this is fascinating: put a brain in a control loop and train it for all kinds of purposes. Although this principle, known as neurofeedback, was discovered thirty years ago, it is being recognized and experiencing growth in the last few years. Of course, it makes sense: Our society is less and less tolerant for non-perfect functioning brains. Example: ADD / ADHD, the new fashion disease of many kids. On the other hand, technology is now powerful and cheap enough to enable widespread adoption of neurofeedback. What is neurofeedback: think of a computer game controlled just by concentration via brainwaves. More information at EEG Info USA and EEG Info Europe.

     And, at the end, I want to point to an excellent school. If you have kids (or you happen to be one), you know all the problems associated with school. Check this one out International School Winterthur, if you are looking for a great philosophy and a climate that make kids cry when holidays start (This, in fact, is the only disadvantage. During holidays, kids complain about their length and are looking forward to the day when school starts again). For us, this school brought life quality back into our family.
